Downgrade iOS 14 to iOS 13

How to downgrade from iOS 14 to iOS 13 using iTunes.

Many iOS users have reported battery draining issues, and other software bugs in the new iOS 14 beta versions, as it’s now possible to Downgrade iOS 14. Here’s a tutorial on how to do so. 

It’s common to see such problems as iOS 14 still in its beta stage, for now you can restore your iPhone back to iOS 13 easily, as iOS 14 isn’t a public version yet. But as soon as iOS 14 gets to public, you won’t be able to restore to the old iOS 13

If you wan’t to keep iOS 14 new features, you can wait for iOS 14 public release which is expected to be next week, and update normally. 

If you need to Downgrade iOS 14, but you still need iOS 14 new features in the older iOS 13, you can Jailbreak your iPhone/iPad and download tweaks that give you the same features.

Back Up Your iPhone:

when restoring your iPhone to an older iOS you won’t be able to restore the latest backup, which were backed up in the new version, as they have been backed up in a newer iOS. Instead, you may back up your photos and files to your computer manually.

Download iOS 13 firmware:

To restore iOS 13, you will need first to download the latest singed iOS 13 firmware form IPSW website. 
  • Head to IPWS from your internet browser.
  • Select iPhone, and then the iPhone version you have.

  • Under “Singed firmware” you will find iOS versions you can restore back to.

  • Click on the iOS version, then click on “Download

  • The iOS version will start downloading

Downgrade iOS 14 via iTunes:

Windows:

  • Head to iTunes downloading page, and click on download via Microsoft Store.

  • Connect your iPhone to the computer, and iTunes will automatically open.
  • Enter DUF mode. “Scroll down to know how
  • Now you will see your device on iTunes.

  • Press Shift + Restore
  • Locate the iOS firmware that you have downloaded, and click open.

  • iTunes will start restoring your iPhone. 

MacOS:

  • Connect your iPhone to the computer, and iTunes will automatically open.
  • Enter DUF mode. “Scroll down to know how
  • Now you will see your device on iTunes.

  • Press Command + Restore

    Select the iPhone firmware
    Locate iPhone firmware file.
  • Locate the iOS firmware that you have downloaded, and click open.
  • iTunes will start restoring your iPhone. 

Enter DUF Mode:

For iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xr, and iPhone X.

Any iPhone with FaceID, and iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus.

  • Open iTunes on your computer.
  • Plug in the iPhone, then turn it off.
  • Quickly press the volume up button and release.
  • Quickly press the volume down button and release.
  • Press and hold the side button “Power button” till the screen goes black.
  • Press and hold both the volume down and the side button for five seconds.
  • After the five seconds, release the side button and keep holding the volume down button.
      • If you see Apple logo, that means you held for too long, redo the steps.
  • Once entering successfully to DUF, iTunes will detect the iPhone.
  • Nothing will be displayed in the screen when the device is in DUF mode.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

  • Open iTunes on your computer.
  • Plug in the iPhone, then turn it off.
  • Hold both the side button and the volume down button.
  • After 8 seconds, release the side button and keep holding the volume down button.
      • if Apple logo appears, you held the side button for too long.
  • Once entering successfully to DUF, iTunes will detect the iPhone.
  • Nothing will be displayed in the screen when the device is in DUF mode.

iPad, iPhone 6s and below, iPhone SE.

  • Open iTunes on your computer.
  • Plug in the iPhone, then turn it off.
  • Hold both the lock button and the home button.
  • After 8 seconds, release the lock button and keep holding the home button.
      • if Apple logo appears, you held the lock button for too long.
  • Once entering successfully to DUF, iTunes will detect the iPhone.
  • Nothing will be displayed in the screen when the device is in DUF mode.
